# Solar-Powered Laundry Accessories The Lightly Clothespins Illuminate Colorfully at Nighttime By Meghan Young | Published 2013-12-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightly-clothespins References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2013/12/solar-clothespin.html) A household will not need any Christmas lights this holiday season if they invest in some Lightly Clothespins. Although they look just like [traditional clothespins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spaceefficient-drying), they have been tweaked to sport [solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sula) on their topmost surface. Throughout the day, they collect the sun's energy and then illuminate vibrantly at nighttime. Embedded with [colorful LED lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/govee-outdoor-string-lights-2), the Lightly Clothespin might as well be created for the Christmas season. Designed by Idan Noyberg and Gal Bulka, the Lightly Clothespins provide a playful way to visually contribute to neighborhood instead of just being a drab household staple. Although a more decorative tweak than anything else, it could help ensure that people don't accidentally walk into laundry lines. Not to mention that the Lightly Clothespins would make a fun and unique gift for Christmas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Solar-powered Household Accessories:** The incorporation of solar panels into household objects is a trend that could open up opportunities for further innovation in making traditional household items more sustainable and eco-friendly. - **Decorative Laundry Products:** There is a growing trend of using laundry accessories not only for their practical function but also as decorative items that can add a playful and colorful touch to home aesthetics. - **Sustainable Lighting:** The use of solar power to provide lighting is an emerging trend that could disrupt traditional lighting industries and lead to new innovations in sustainable lighting solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Renewable Energy:** The solar technology used in the Lightly Clothespins presents an opportunity for expansion and innovation in the renewable energy industry, particularly in integrating solar panels into everyday household items. - **Home Decor:** Decorative laundry products such as the Lightly Clothespins could open up opportunities for innovation in the home decor industry, specifically in the area of multifunctional and playful household items. - **Lighting:** Sustainable lighting solutions will disrupt the traditional lighting industry, making it necessary for companies to explore and develop more eco-friendly lighting options such as solar-powered lighting. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Floral Garden Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tree-house.md) - [Off-Grid Campsite String Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biolite-solar-string-lights.md) - [Sparkling Illuminated Festive Wreaths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starry-wreath.md) - [Accessible Accent Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decoration-light.md) - [Wireless Solar-Powered Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-lights.md) - [Biodegradable Holiday Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christmas-decor-collection.md) - [Customizable Holiday Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/merry-sparkles-outdoor-decor.md) - [Christmas-Themed USB Keys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psb-xmas-tree.md) - [Alternative Energy Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sammanlnkad-collection.md)
