# IV Lamp Infusion Lighting by Christian Maas By Going Like Sixty | Published 2008-03-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-is-life-blood-of-interior-design-infusion-lighting-by-christian-ma References: [christian-maas](http://www.christian-maas.com/) These medically inspired lamps demonstrate that for this designer, lighting is the life blood of interior design. The infusion lighting by Christina Maas resemble a cluster of IVs, the bag portions lighting up. Here is your "lighting joke groaner" for the day: Proctologist asks nurse for help; she returns with Bud Light; he says "No, nurse, I said butt light." At least one of these lights should have a red bulb. Christian Maas has a sense of humor as well as good design because he disguised the power cord as a rubber tube. Just needs wheels to make it look even more authentic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Medically-inspired Lighting:** Opportunities for designers to create unique lighting installations that mimic medical devices and add an unexpected twist. - **Humorous Design:** Opportunities for designers to incorporate humor and playfulness into functional designs. - **Disguised Power Cords:** Opportunities for designers to disguise power cords in creative ways, adding to the overall design aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting designs could be used in residential or commercial interior design projects. - **Medical Devices:** Designers can take inspiration from medical devices and infuse this into their creations. - **Home Decor:** Unique lighting installations like the IV lamp can add a quirky touch to any home decor project. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Medical Equipment-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pond-lamp.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Blown Glass-Inspired Lighting Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luisa-collection.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Perforated LED Table Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lume.md) - [Sleek Structural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotional-lab-light.md) - [Bulbous Whimsical Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic.md) - [Organic Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md)
