# Lunar Rainbow Cushions The Light Up Moonlight Pillow is a Nightlight-Teddybear Hybrid By Meghan Young | Published 2012-01-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-up-moonlight-pillow References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2012/01/moonlight-cushion-lightin.html) & [gadgetsandgear](http://www.gadgetsandgear.com/light-up-pillow.html) The Light Up Moonlight Pillow is the perfect nighttime companion, just like the moon itself can be on a clear night. It glows comfortingly, providing an ambient light that is just dim enough to fall asleep to. But unlike the moon, it illuminates in a spectrum of color, as though the creators were imagining what a lunar rainbow would look like. Available online at Gadgets and Gears, the Light Up Moonlight Pillow constantly changes color in a fluid motion that is reminiscent of lava lamps. Embedded with LED lights, it has a plush fur exterior that will encourage a lot of cuddle sessions. This furry pillow is like a hybrid between a teddybear and nightlight. It is powered by a battery pack and turns on when tapped. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nightlight-teddybear Hybrids:** Creating plush toys that also function as nightlights, offering comfort and soothing ambient light for children at bedtime. - **Color-changing Illumination:** Developing products with LED lights that can change color in a fluid motion, providing a visually stimulating and calming experience. - **Lunar Rainbow Imagery:** Exploring the concept of lunar rainbows and incorporating them into product designs to create unique and imaginative lighting experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Children's Toys:** Incorporating technology and design elements to create innovative plush toys that provide additional functionalities for children. - **Home Decor:** Integrating color-changing illumination into home decor products to enhance the ambiance and create visually captivating environments. - **Nightlight Industry:** Disrupting the traditional nightlight market by introducing hybrid products that combine the comforting aspects of plush toys with the functionality of nightlights. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Astronaut Night Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/night-light-projectors.md) - [Spaced-Themed LED Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-room.md) - [Futuristic LED Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonside-lamp-one.md) - [Sensory Plush Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mooshmoosh.md) - [Textured Moon-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp.md) - [Sleep-Aiding Tranquil Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-player.md) - [Soothing Body Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soothing-body-pillow.md) - [Packable Camp Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/packable-camp-pillow.md) - [Soothing Speaker-Equipped Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lullaby-talk.md)
