# Dripping Ceiling Lamps The Light Shower Chandelier by Bruce Munro is Romantic and Artistic By Meghan Young | Published 2012-08-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-shower-chandelier References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/bruce-munro-light-shower-chandeliers) & [brucemunro](http://www.brucemunro.co.uk/) The Light Shower Chandelier looks as though countless of [raindrops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light) have somehow been embedded with tiny LED lights. Dripping from the ceiling with a spectacular glow, they can also be likened to frozen fallen stars, captured for the pleasure of the homeowners. In reality, however, they are simply an [artistic arrangement of lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation), adding to the overall decor of a living space. Created by United Kingdom-based artist Bruce Munro, who is known for his large-scale light installations such as [Forest of Light](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-of-light), the Light Shower Chandelier simply brings his illuminating vision into the home. He was inspired one day at a lodge, revealing, "It was raining in squalls against the plate-glass window, which distorted the view with rivulets of water streaming down the panoramic pane. The words 'light' and 'shower' registered in my mind and I had my idea." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Artistic LED Lighting:** The use of LED lights in artistic arrangements, as seen in the Light Shower Chandelier, presents opportunities for creative and unique lighting fixtures. - **Large-scale Home Installations:** Home installations inspired by large-scale artistic creations, such as the Light Shower Chandelier, can bring a new form of contemporary expression into private spaces. - **Decorative Ceiling Lighting:** Creative use of ceiling lighting, like the Light Shower Chandelier, can add an artistic touch to any space and create a captivating focal point. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can use artistic LED lighting fixtures like the Light Shower Chandelier to create unique and contemporary spaces for clients. - **Architecture:** Architects can incorporate large-scale home installations like the Light Shower Chandelier to add a captivating design element to homes and buildings. - **Lighting Design:** Lighting designers can explore the trend of using decorative ceiling lighting, such as the Light Shower Chandelier, to create innovative and visually appealing fixtures for homes and businesses. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mesmerizing Glass Pendants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dew-pendant.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Dynamic Artful Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-chandelier.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Dynamic Hand-Blown Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaris.md) - [Jewel-Inspired Chandelier Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pearl-chandelier.md) - [Sculptural Contemporary Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volant.md) - [Sculptural Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamar-grande-chandelier.md)
