In Oslo, Norway the three of them devised a four-meter high stick that emits [LED lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation) and then proceeded to walk around town picking up the the thousands of [WiFi signals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/complex-1) in the busy town. Light Painting WiFI is an [art project that visualizes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow) WiFi networks and the signals they produce that are invisible to the naked eye. Light Painting WiFi was not only for the amazing graphical wonder it produced but also for constructive research. The data collected from the various WiFi networks was evaluated and researched on the quality of wireless networks in Oslo. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Light Painting Wifi:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the potential of using light painting techniques to visualize and enhance WiFi networks in urban areas. - **Wireless Network Research:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Conduct in-depth research on the quality and performance of wireless networks in urban environments to identify opportunities for improvement. - **Invisible Signals Visualization:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new techniques or technologies to visualize and make sense of the invisible signals and data transmitted through wireless networks. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate light painting techniques in art installations or public artworks to create immersive experiences that showcase the invisible world of wireless networks. - **Telecommunications:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Improve the performance and reliability of wireless networks in urban areas based on the insights and research obtained from analyzing WiFi networks using light painting techniques. - **Data Analysis and Research:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced data analysis tools and methodologies to extract valuable insights from the vast amount of data collected from wireless networks in urban environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Sculptural Wifi Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-x3-pro-wifi.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Winter Light Art Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nordic-lights.md) - [Reimagined Impressionist Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impressionist-paintings.md) - [Math-Driven Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alba-light.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md)
