# Paranormal Parking Lot Scenes The Ghostly Glow of Light Painting at the Parking Garage By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-08-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-at-the-parking-garage References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/42365/) & [photographyserved](http://www.photographyserved.com/gallery/Light-Painting-at-the-Abandoned-Garage/1440329) Derelict structures need little assistance to assume a hair-raising air, yet the Light Painting at the Parking Garage series strives to enhance the [supernatural quality](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spooky-adventures) of this [abandoned concrete building](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niels-bohr-car-park) in Houston with the incorporation of [illumination art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble). Artist Andy Hemingway does not explain how this phantom-like photography was conjured, but in remaining incognizant of the techniques employed, perhaps one can appreciate added strength in the impact of these surreal scenes. The ground floor, the interiors of several upper levels and the rooftop parapet become the settings of seemingly paranormal activity. Bright electric blue ribbons of light cascade over partitions and along the floor, and suspended star-like orbs augment the sense of mystery in Light Painting at the Parking Garage. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Supernatural Photography:** Exploring the use of illumination art to enhance the supernatural quality of abandoned structures. - **Light Painting:** Utilizing light to create ghostly scenes in dark environments. - **Mysterious Atmospheres:** Creating an aura of mystery and paranormal activity through artistic lighting techniques. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to experiment with illumination art to create unique and eerie images. - **Art:** Potential for artists to use light painting techniques to convey supernatural themes and concepts. - **Urban Exploration:** Incorporating illumination art into urban exploration to capture hauntingly beautiful scenes in abandoned buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paranormal Mapping Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-town1.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Eerie Walking Tour Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-walk-tours.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Playfully Vibrant Studio Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colgio-salesiano.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Forgotten Theme-Park Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forgotten-fantasy.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md)
