# Wire-Outlined Lamps The Light Line Gets Its Intriguing Form from Its Coiling Cords By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-03-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-line References: [ariel-design](http://www.ariel-design.com/light2.html?v=9721261421) The Light Line exudes a uniqueness of form that frames and emphasizes the all-important lightbulbs within it. Interestingly, the materials that make up these beautiful rounded borders are actually the same utilitarian components that allow the modern illuminators to be switched on. Look closely and you'll observe that the fine wires that connect each light fixture to the ceiling are the same cords that wrap around the globes. The curving contours of the bulbous glass with its socket are gently followed by layer upon layer of cable, giving the electrical source a flat halo. Each individual the pendant lamp is treated to a different binding thickness with the core oriented either up or down. The Ariel Zuckerman Light Line is simple, creative and eye-catching, and looks great when installed in clusters. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Wire-outlined Lamps:** Creative lighting fixtures with wire borders offer disruptive innovation opportunities for the home decor industry. - **Coiled Cord Design:** Integrating coiled cords into product design presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in multiple industries, such as fashion and automotive. - **Multi-purpose Materials:** Exploring the use of utilitarian components in creating aesthetically pleasing designs opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the sustainability and eco-friendly industries. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting:** The wire-outlined lamp design trend presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the lighting industry to explore unique and creative designs. - **Home Decor:** Wire-outlined lamps offer a new design element for home decor, providing a disruptive innovation opportunity to stand out in the market. - **Product Design:** The use of coiled cords in product design offers disruptive innovation opportunities in multiple industries, including fashion and automotive. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Linear Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superwire.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Candy-Colored Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-ii.md) - [Wire-Accented Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/line-series-furniture.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md)
