# Wireframe Lightbulb Baskets The Light Container Visually Assigns Volume and Weight to Illumination By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-12-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-container-lamp References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2013/12/13/light-container-by-martin-azua/) & [martinazua](http://www.martinazua.com/product/light-container/) The Light Container Lamp demonstrates serious out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to illumination design. Very little about these fascinating pieces references the standard light fixtures that you're accustomed to seeing. What [Martín Azúa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joe-bonamassa1) has created are [painted iron panniers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape) to the shape of elegant wineglasses. Their forms are defined by wire frame structures and they suspend delicately from the ceiling beneath their slack electrical cords. There is a nearly seamless connection between the fine black cable and the glowing ball that's cradled within the Light Container Lamp. This brilliant component is a [blown glass diffuser](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) that appears as a squashed sphere of pure illumination. It's held by this apparently lightweight basket in such a way that suggests heaviness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wireframe Lightbulb Baskets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing unique and visually striking light fixtures using wireframe structures and unconventional materials. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating innovative lighting solutions by reimagining traditional light fixtures and incorporating artistic elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Metaphorically Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilanciato-pendants.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md) - [Woven Lighting Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gurunsi.md)
