Designed by José Roca, the 'Spider' lights feature a spindle-inspired design that has multiple illuminators stretching out from a base that is either on the floor, affixed to the wall or hanging on the ceiling. They offer no-nonsense illumination that's inviting and clean, but also somewhat friendly in comparison to other lighting solutions on the market. The [disc illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caleide) on the 'Spider' light collection fixtures project from the base and look almost like floating saucers or toys. This allows them to be suitable for a wide array of different [interior home designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-illumination) ranging from ultra-modern, to traditional in style and aesthetic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Playful Lighting Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities include designing lighting fixtures that feature playful and cartoon-like elements, appealing to a wide range of interior design styles. - **Suspended Spindle Lights:** Disruptive innovation opportunities include creating lighting fixtures with spindle-inspired designs that can be affixed to the wall, suspended from the ceiling, or placed on the floor, offering versatile illumination options. - **Clean and Inviting Illumination:** Disruptive innovation opportunities include developing lighting solutions that provide no-nonsense, clean, and friendly illumination to differentiate from other market offerings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry include incorporating playful lighting designs that can complement different interior styles and aesthetics. - **Lighting Fixtures:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the lighting fixtures industry lie in creating versatile spindle-inspired designs that can be suspended, wall-mounted, or placed on the floor. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the home decor industry involve designing lighting solutions that offer clean and inviting illumination while adding a playful touch to the overall aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stunningly Minimalist Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Otherworldly Lighting Fixture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otherworldly-lighting-fixture.md) - [Organically Fluid Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-collection.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Dynamic Artful Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-chandelier.md) - [Statement Contemporary Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/filigrana-6.md)
