# Perforated Lighting Cabinets 'Light Box' by Studio Jo Meesters is a Bureau That Acts Like a Lamp By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-08-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-box-studio-jo-meesters References: [designyearbook.blogspot](http://designyearbook.blogspot.com/2009/08/light-box-by-studio-jo-meesters.html) & [jomeesters.nl](http://www.jomeesters.nl/p22_light_box.html?offset=0) I'm always intrigued by furniture that is more than meets the eye, and [Studio Jo Meesters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp)' Light Box is just that. This piece of home decor looks like a [decorated cabinet or bureau](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks), but it's actually a lamp. Perforations in the wood allow light to shine through, and the design is as ethereal and calming as it is functional. Studio Jo Meesters' Light Box is a perfect alternative to greenery when it isn't feasible for you to have a shrub or series of plants in your home.
