Snowpulse has come to the rescue with Lifebag, an [inflatable neck and shoulder protection system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-milano-jacket) designed to inflate in the event of an Avalanche. "Like an [airbag](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-airbag-platform), it's designed to protect the head and thorax while keeping you afloat during an avalanche," CoolHunting said. "Manually deployed similar to a parachute, the 150-liter shield inflates in less than three seconds and deflates after 90 seconds. Should you get buried, when the bag deflates you'll at least have a small air pocket to breathe, scream and hope to be found." It will be available in the U.S. as of December 2008 and is expected to sell for $1,100. The only avalanche I have to worry about falling under is that of one from all the bills that keep coming to my house, but I suppose if you lived in a more [mountainous and snowy region](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aether-brighton-insulated-snow-jacket) like the Alps, it could be a problem. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Inflatable Protection Systems:** The development of inflatable protection systems presents disruptive innovation opportunities in various industries where safety is a concern. - **Avalanche Safety Technology:** The advancement of avalanche safety technology opens up opportunities for innovation in the outdoor adventure and winter sports industries. - **Emergency Response Gadgets:** The emergence of emergency response gadgets like the Snowpulse Lifebag creates possibilities for disruptive innovation in the field of disaster preparedness and rescue operations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Adventure:** The Outdoor Adventure industry can explore integrating inflatable protection systems like the Snowpulse Lifebag to enhance safety measures during high-risk activities. - **Winter Sports:** In the Winter Sports industry, there is an opportunity to develop advanced avalanche safety technology to better protect athletes and enthusiasts in avalanche-prone areas. - **Disaster Preparedness:** The development of emergency response gadgets, such as the Snowpulse Lifebag, can revolutionize the Disaster Preparedness industry by providing individuals and professionals with life-saving tools for avalanche situations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lifesaving Swimming Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swimming-vest.md) - [Under-Arm Rescue Floatation Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ua80-evolution-vest.md) - [Airbag Cyclist Safety Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerobag-system.md) - [Airbag-Integrated Bicycle Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airbag-bicycle-helmet.md) - [Airbag-Deploying Travel Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stan-airbag.md) - [Safety-Precaution Wearable Airbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ydb-airbag.md) - [Commuter-Focused Motorcyclist Airbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alpinestars-techair-3.md) - [Aftermarket Air-Spring Skier Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shredshox.md) - [Prepackaged Survivalist Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uncharted-supply-basecamp-30l-yeti-survival-system.md)
