# Surreal Circus Shoots Billy Kan's Life Journey Photo Series is Full of Character and Color By Meghan Young | Published 2011-03-23 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-joureny References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Life-Joureny/893838) & [rostproduction](http://www.rostproduction.com) I love circus and carnival shoots like the Life Journey photo series. I mean, what more can you ask for in terms of a theme? Shoots like Life Journey are full of [vibrant colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorama), dark undertones, quirky characters, stunning backdrops, playful props, eccentric costumes and more. It's like the perfect playground for both amateur and professional photographers. Shot by [Hong Kong-based](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hong-kongmorning) Billy Kan, the Life Journey photo series is full of all of those elements. Yet what sets it aside from previous carival-esque shoots is the epic scenery that reminds me somewhat of the Mad Max movies because of its heatstroke quality. As far as circus-themed and general photo shoots go, Life Journey is definitely on top of the game. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Hip Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/hipfashion) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Circus-themed Photo Shoots:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop an augmented reality app that allows users to virtually participate in circus-themed photo shoots. - **Vibrant Color Palette:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of eco-friendly, biodegradable pigments for photographers to enhance the vibrant colors in their photo shoots. - **Epic Scenery:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design a portable, modular set that photographers can use to create realistic epic scenery for photo shoots. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop an AI-powered camera system that automatically captures the perfect shot based on user preferences. - **Augmented Reality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create an immersive augmented reality experience that allows users to explore and interact with circus-themed worlds. - **Eco-friendly Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable materials and equipment for photographers to minimize their environmental impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Circus Tent-Inspired Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-circus.md) - [Forgotten Theme-Park Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forgotten-fantasy.md) - [Photography Project Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1.md) - [Color Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color.md) - [Travel Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour.md) - [Skateboard-Themed Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rabbit-hole-1.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md)
