Using these simple pictograms, often with only four or five images each, Life in Five Seconds describes over 200 [notable historical events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/royal-ontario-museum). One of the funniest and simplest pictograms in Life in Five Seconds is the '[History of Dinosaurs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinodex).' A long-necked dino is drawn with an arrow leading to a slightly longer-necked dinosaur, which in turn becomes an even longer-necked dinosaur. Finally, the dinosaur is shown being crushed beneath a meteor. It's a very straight-forward and blunt way to describe sections of world history, but it can create hilarious effects, as shown by the histories of both Lance Armstrong and Michael Jackson. This [pictogram book](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parks-2) is a clever and witty way to keep people up to date on their pop culture and world histories, while maintaining a sense of artistic integrity. While the pictograms aren't difficult to interpret, they are sure to make even the sternest individual chuckle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Pictogram Marketing:** The use of simple pictograms to advertise and market products or services may increase consumer engagement and interest. - **Visual Storytelling:** A growing demand for visual storytelling through graphics and images may lead to an increase in the use of pictograms and related design techniques. - **Simplification of Information:** Efforts to simplify complex information or data may make use of pictograms as an effective means to convey information. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Design:** The pictogram book and its innovative design techniques may generate new opportunities for designers to create innovative and engaging content for various industries. - **Education:** The use of pictograms in education, particularly in history and social studies classes, can help students understand historical events and concepts more efficiently. - **Tourism:** Using pictograms as a means to advertise and promote tourist destinations may lead to more effective communication and marketing efforts in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Universal Icon Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pictograms-iconic-japanese-designs.md) - [10-Pound Monumental Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pentagram-living-by-design.md) - [Smartphone App Iconography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ios-app-icon-book.md) - [Pictogram Creation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pictogram-generator.md) - [Collectible Historical Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thrilljoy-pix.md) - [Scientific Time Narratives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deeptime-science-explorer.md) - [Rapid Photo Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-minute-photos.md) - [Water-Activated Book Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dehydrating-book.md) - [AI-Generated Illustrated Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illustrated-libraries.md)
