# Illuminating End Tables The Lichtkiste Lamp is a Multi-Functional Illuminator from Clemens Tiss By Michael Hines | Published 2011-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lichtkiste-lamp References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/magic-lamp-box-multi-functional-little-modular-light-cube/) & [clemenstissi](http://clemenstissi.com/content/lichtkiste) The LichtKiste Lamp is the most simplistic transformer lamp you will ever see. German designer Clemens Tiss has taken a boxed lamp and knocked out two of its panels, rearranging the remaining two perpendicularly to create the LichtKiste Lamp. The LichtKiste Lamp is essentially a kickass multifunctional lamp that can be positioned in several different poses, and can serve as a shelf/end table. I can't wait to see this one at IKEA. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Designing versatile, multi-use furniture that can serve multiple purposes such as lighting and storage simultaneously. - **Modular Lighting Design:** Creating lighting designs that are easily customizable and allow for rearrangement of the lamps to suit different spaces and lighting needs. - **Simplified Home Lighting:** Offering simple and minimalistic lighting solutions that can add both form and function to any living space, without adding unnecessary design elements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Furniture:** There is an opportunity for furniture companies to create multi-functional furniture that can serve as both lighting and storage, offering solutions for consumers who live in small spaces. - **Lighting Design:** Lighting companies can offer modular lighting systems that allow for easy customization and flexibility for consumers who want to change their lighting setup frequently. - **Interior Design:** Designers can focus on creating minimalist lighting solutions that add to the overall aesthetic of a living space without being too overwhelming or complicated in their design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Conical Multifunctional Lamp Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-light.md) - [Foldable Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp.md) - [Portable Mushroom-Like Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ichi-table-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Multifunctional C-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clamp.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md)
