# Undulating Spherical Lighting The Libera Pendant Lamp by Lucente is Full of Movement By Meghan Young | Published 2012-11-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/libera-pendant-lamp References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006504.html) & [lucente.eu](http://www.lucente.eu/) The [Libera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-libera-outdoor-kitchen) Pendant Lamp has a striking undulating design that has been contained in a spherical shape. A dynamic design, to say the least, it may hang statically from the ceiling, but the [illusion of movement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp) is not diminished in any way. As though spiralling in midair, the Libera Pendant Lamp hovers above the floor in a captivating manner. Designed by Brian Rasmussen for the Lucente design collection, a company based in Italy, the Libera Pendant Lamp has a [blown glass cylinder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-1) in its center, which holds the light source. The way the light illuminates through the layers of different-sized aluminum sheets allows it to shed a beautiful soft glow while casting playful shadows on the wall. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Undulating Lighting:** There is an opportunity to explore the use of undulating designs in lighting fixtures, creating dynamic and captivating visual effects. - **Spherical Design:** Designers can experiment with spherical shapes in lighting products, offering a unique and striking aesthetic. - **Illusion of Movement:** Incorporating the illusion of movement in static objects, such as pendant lamps, can create an intriguing and immersive experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can explore innovative ways to incorporate undulating designs and spherical shapes into their products. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize pendant lamps with undulating and spherical designs to add a captivating focal point to their spaces. - **Home Decor:** Home decor industry can offer unique lighting options featuring the illusion of movement, enhancing the visual appeal of living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Suspended Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-pendant-light.md) - [Intricate Sculptural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-pendant-light.md) - [Water Movement-Inspired Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light.md) - [Exquisite Textured Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendant-lamp1.md) - [Metaphorically Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilanciato-pendants.md) - [Enchanting Hanging Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hf-series.md) - [Organically Fluid Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-collection.md) - [Suspended Origami-Like Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-light.md) - [Stacked Illuminator Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/konnect-pendant-light.md)
