# Hatching Light Fixtures The Li-Xuan Sun Nest Light Hatches a Unique Design By Alex Scott | Published 2010-02-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/li-xuan-sun-nest-light References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/02/15/get-a-bit-nesty/) There's nothing like having a giant illuminated osprey nest in your living room. Actually, the Li-Xuan Sun Nest Light is a pretty sleek looking lamp. More than just a pretty design, the Li-Xuan Sun Nest Light lets you actually take the egg-shaped light bulb out and use it as a portable mini lamp. This is the first light fixture I’ve ever seen where the bulb itself has a self-contained power source and for this reason, you should go out and purchase one now -- just keep it away from the window in case any birds want to use it as a new home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Self-contained Power Source:** The trend towards self-contained power sources in light fixtures presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Portable Mini Lamps:** The trend of using light bulb components as portable mini lamps opens up new possibilities for disruption in the lighting market. - **Unique Light Fixture Designs:** The trend towards unique and unconventional light fixture designs creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Industry:** The lighting industry has the potential to be disrupted by the trend towards self-contained power sources and unique light fixture designs. - **Home Decor Industry:** The home decor industry could be disrupted by the trend of using light bulb components as portable mini lamps and the demand for unique light fixture designs. - **Electronics Industry:** The electronics industry has an opportunity for disruptive innovation by developing innovative and compact power sources for self-contained light fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md) - [Gridded Nest-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skynest.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Sun-Lit Kite-Inspired Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cygnet-light.md)
