# Utensil Organizer Illuminators The L+H Lamp Clears Cluttered Desks with Pencil Holder Compartment By Jason Soy | Published 2012-02-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lh-lamp References: [designcollector.net](http://designcollector.net/lh-lamp-by-mikhail-belyaev/) & [mikhailbelyaev](http://mikhailbelyaev.com/lh-lamp-design/) The L+H Lamp is perfect for users with minimal work space as it’s a light that doubles as a pencil holder. Simply place all writing utensils within the rectangular storage that serves as the base of the light, and adjust the chopstick-like illuminator to whatever angle you desire. It’s so sleek and compact, you’d think it was the latest in [Apple Inc](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-foldable-iphone).’s line of revolutionary devices. The L+H Lamp was designed by Mikhail Belyaev, who’s based in St. Petersburg, Russia. He fabricated the light using chrome-plated steel and plastic, and wanted to create something that had a beautiful form while also maintaining a highly practical function. When users are done with the lamp, it easily folds up and joins the rest of the writing tools in the pen holder inconspicuously. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multifunctional Lighting:** The trend of combining lighting fixtures with additional functionalities, such as storage compartments or charging ports, opens up opportunities for innovative designs and convenient solutions for limited workspaces. - **Minimalist Workspace Solutions:** The demand for compact and sleek workspace solutions prompts the development of innovative products, like the L+H Lamp, that efficiently clear clutter and optimize desk organization. - **Integration of Design and Function:** The focus on creating aesthetically pleasing products that seamlessly integrate practical functions, as demonstrated by the L+H Lamp, invites disruptive innovation in various industries. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** In the field of interior design, the trend of multifunctional lighting opens up opportunities for designers to create innovative yet space-saving solutions for modern workspaces. - **Office Supplies and Accessories:** The development of minimalist workspace solutions, like the L+H Lamp, presents opportunities for companies in the office supplies and accessories industry to offer practical yet stylish products for efficient desk organization. - **Product Design and Manufacturing:** The integration of design and function, exemplified by the L+H Lamp, drives disruptive innovation in the product design and manufacturing industry by pushing for the development of aesthetically pleasing yet highly practical products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Desk Organizer Lamp Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/engrid-desk-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Portable Pen-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pod-lamp-concept.md) - [Magnetic Document-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holder-desk-lamp.md) - [Flexible Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archflex-desk-lamp.md) - [Minimalist Workstation Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-lamp-concept.md) - [Illuminating Workstation Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexcal-studio.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md)
