The LG Finestra is a conceptual docking station created by Kairi Eguchi Design to let phone owners interact with their device once it has been docked. The LG Finestra projects the content of your smartphone onto the frame while docked. The device also [projects a keyboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amber-kb-1) to make it easier to navigate through your phone. Most mobile phone docks designed today either play music or simply charge as they cradle your phone. Interactive docks could be the way of the future as consumers are constantly trying to do more with their phones. The Finestra is currently a concept, but it may be close to becoming a reality as it won the 2011 LG Mobile Design Competition. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Interactive Smartphone Docks:** Disruptive innovation: Interactive smartphone docks offer a new way for users to interact with their devices and project content onto a larger screen while docked. - **Projection Technology:** Disruptive innovation: Advances in projection technology allow for smartphone content to be projected onto frames and surfaces, expanding the user experience. - **Enhanced Phone Accessories:** Disruptive innovation: Interactive docks represent a new generation of phone accessories that go beyond charging and playing music, offering additional functionality and convenience. ### Where This Applies - **Telecommunications:** Disruptive innovation: Telecommunications companies can explore partnerships with manufacturers to develop interactive smartphone docks that enhance the user experience. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation: Consumer electronics brands can invest in research and development of projection technology to create innovative and interactive docking stations for smartphones. - **Accessory Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation: Accessory manufacturers can seize the opportunity to create and market a new range of interactive docks that offer enhanced features and convenience for smartphone users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shifting Orientation Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-stand-charger.md) - [Spherical Smartphone Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dockorb.md) - [Smartphone-Charging Laptop Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uperfect-udock-x-156-pro.md) - [Three-in-One Phone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omiodo-portable.md) - [Mobile Device Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usbc-stand-dock.md) - [Anti-Distraction Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-charging-dock-concept.md) - [Smartphone-Powered Portable Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onze-portable-display.md) - [Anti-Distraction Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/migo-wireless-charger-dock.md) - [Floating Monitor-Mounted Tech Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/line-linestand.md)
