# Spinning Contemporary Clocks The Entire Lexon Around Clock Rotates Instead of Using a Ticking Hand By Alyson Wyers | Published 2013-09-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexon-around-clock References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/252655745/Around-Clock-by-Lexon) & [amzn](http://amzn.com/B00D47V03W) The Lexon Around Clock has a [contemporary design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triarch) that forces us to rethink how time is told. Like Earth, the clock's face and numbers rotate, as the red line stands still. The [analogue clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dozen-clock) is otherwise pretty classic, with bold numerals and plenty of markings, making it reminiscent of a classroom time piece. Given its design, the device could easily be an educational tool. The squat cylindrical shape makes it ideal for a [desk or nightstand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-clock-1), as it is quite small and would be difficult to see the time at a great distance. The Lexon Around Clock comes in silver, and a variety of other colors including black and white. The plastic product is powered by batteries. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Rotating Clocks:** Innovative clock designs that challenge traditional time-telling methods. - **Educational Timepieces:** Clocks designed to serve as educational tools that engage and teach. - **Compact Desk Clocks:** Small-sized clocks designed for desk or nightstand placement. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor and Furnishings:** The home decor industry can explore the creation of unique and eye-catching rotating clock designs. - **Education and Learning:** The education industry can incorporate innovative clock designs into classrooms to make time-telling more interactive and engaging for students. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can develop compact, battery-powered clocks with rotating face features for desk or nightstand use. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Orbital Timepiece Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radius-clock.md) - [Minimal Sculptural Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trace-line.md) - [Linearly Formed Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clock-concept.md) - [Minimal Global Desk-Side Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/world-clock-1.md) - [Two-Sided Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corner-clock.md) - [Mechanical Digital Mesmerizing Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triaxial-numechron-clock.md) - [Flowing Light Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crydal-scroll-clock.md) - [Celestially Inspired Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astral-desk-clock.md) - [Elegant Linear Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clockworks.md)
