# Weight-Revealing Cloth Shelves The Level Shelf by Roger Moline is Flexible and Customizable By Meghan Young | Published 2013-07-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/level-shelf References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2013/07/cloth-wall-shelf.html) & [rogermoline](http://rogermoline.com/) By the looks of it, the Level Shelf appears to be made using an elastic material of some sort. In reality, the Level Shelf uses a continuous piece of [canvas acrylic fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving) that is looped through the cylinders. Depending on what is placed on each of its [three sections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-series), the cloth will dip accordingly. Of course, the most important factor is weight. For instance, a vase full of flowers can't compete with a stack of books. Designed by Roger Moliné, a product designer based in Barcelona, Spain, the Level Shelf is essentially [customizable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving). It allows users to play with different objects and arrangements in their own personal ways. Not to mention that the design is chic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Flexible Shelving:** The Level Shelf's elastic material allows for customizable and adjustable shelving arrangements. - **Weight-sensitive Design:** The Level Shelf's cloth material dips according to the weight of items placed on it, offering a unique way to display and organize objects. - **Customizable Storage Solutions:** The Level Shelf's design provides users with the ability to personalize their shelving arrangements and experiment with different objects and layouts. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The Level Shelf brings a unique and innovative twist to the furniture industry, offering customizable and weight-revealing storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** The Level Shelf's chic design and customizable features cater to the needs of interior designers looking for unique and versatile storage options. - **Home Decor:** The Level Shelf's flexible and weight-sensitive design adds a trendy and functional element to the home decor industry, allowing for personalized and visually engaging storage solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Room-Dividing Bookshelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frquence-shelf.md) - [Modular Configuration Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repisa-01.md) - [Modular Contemporary Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Folding Steel Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf.md) - [Modular Grid-Style Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bend-shelf-by-spenser-atlas.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md)
