It does not require a fingerprint reader or a keypad that initiates a password. Users are actually encouraged to add their own digital key to the HomeKey section of the Home app on their phones. This enables them to unlock the device through either their [iPhones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/level-home) or [Apple Watches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot). The device also stores the digital key in the Wallet app as well and it can also be programmed to activate the lock once users are nearby.
