As rigid gender stereotypes and the fashion restrictions that result from them have become less important to many consumers, designers have come up with gender-fluid alternatives that speak to liberally minded consumers, such as the 'Les Girls Les Boys' collection from the founder of Agent Provocateur.
Making up the collection are a series of soft underwire bras, unisex boxer briefs, cozy sweats. lace bodysuits, intricate bikini-style briefs and thongs, as well as a series of pajama sets. Serena Rees, the collection's designer, explained the need for more gender-fluid pieces in the industry by saying, "The younger generation really doesn’t care about what is traditionally meant for men and what is traditionally meant for women. No one cares about traditional gender marketing—it’s about diversity, and it’s important that fashion reflects that."
