When you first look upon the Leone Series 01, you may feel that it simply resembles unique yet well-designed [light fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-design) that would fit into any contemporary living space. However, as you read on, you'll discover that this is far from the case.

Brought to you by Lanzavecchia + Wai, the Leone Series 01 was handmade by Singapore's last remaining Lion Dance mask craftsman. Although each light fixture seems very minimalist and modern, they are actually imbued with the [traditional techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stria-collection) of making a Lion Dance mask.

Made out of bamboo strips, [rice paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farolito) and hand-painted with patterns inspired by traditional masks, the Leone Series 01 brings this rare South-East Asian trade into the domestic space.
