# Conversational Coffee Tables Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble Table is Made from Cardboard By Rose Nazarali | Published 2009-05-25 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leo-kempfs-speech-bubble-table References: [materialicious](http://www.materialicious.com/2010/09/unique-design-of-conversation-table-by-leo-kempf-2.html) & [leokempf](http://leokempf.com/) I absolutely love Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble table. Not only is it a great centre-peice for a living room, it is also Eco-friendly! Made entirely from [recycled cardboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-up-side-tables), this table really makes a statement. This conversation starter is also light-weight and still durable enough to handle the everyday uses of a [regular coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table). **Implications** - Even the most basic shape can be identified as a pop cultural icon, such as a [speech bubble](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table) or smiley face. This is because of years of reinforcing a shape's meaning, which is what most brands hope to achieve with their logos. The best way to do this is to have a logo used even when an ad or promotion is not involved, making the logo its own symbol. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eco-friendly Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture businesses to create sustainable and environmentally friendly products like Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble table made from recycled cardboard. - **Conversation Starters:** Opportunity for companies to design unique and attention-grabbing furniture pieces that serve as conversation starters in a living room setting. - **Minimalist Design:** Opportunity for designers and home decor brands to embrace minimalist design principles and create sleek, simple and functional coffee tables like Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble table. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to explore innovative and sustainable materials and designs for coffee tables and other home furniture items. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor retailers to offer unique and eye-catching conversation starter pieces, like Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble table, to attract customers and enhance their living spaces. - **Sustainable Design:** Opportunity for companies specializing in sustainable design to showcase their expertise by creating eco-friendly furniture pieces, such as Leo Kempf's Speech Bubble table, that blend style and sustainability. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Topographical Recycled Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-coffee-tables.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Cork Coaster-Integrated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polka-coffee-table.md) - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Cartoon Glove Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voila-coffee-table.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Sustainable Colorful Multifunctional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superpop.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md)
