The quirky cake was made by London-based company '[Cupcakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hostess-products) by SJ,' and it puts a sweet twist on the classic childhood toy. The wedding cake itself features a series of edible LEGO bricks made from colorful hand-molded fondant. The overall effect is the multi-tiered cake that looks as through it is made from the tiny building blocks. The outside is also decorated with miniature LEGO chefs for an added touch of whimsy. Ever since a picture of the cake was shared on social media, Cupcakes by SJ has received a number of requests for similar custom creations. Unfortunately, the company has clarified that they are unable to take commercial requests, meaning you might have to look elsewhere to get your hands on your own LEGO-themed cake. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Custom-themed Cakes:** Opportunity for bakeries to create custom-themed cakes that cater to people's interests and passions, such as LEGO-themed wedding cakes. - **Edible LEGO Bricks:** Emerging trend of using edible LEGO bricks made from colorful hand-molded fondant as a creative and fun element in cakes and confectioneries. - **Whimsical Desserts:** Growing demand for whimsical desserts that add an element of fun and playfulness to special occasions like weddings. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bakery:** Opportunity for bakeries to offer custom-themed cakes, like LEGO-themed ones, as a unique selling point for weddings and other events. - **Confectionery:** Confectionery companies can explore the use of edible LEGO bricks to create innovative and playful treats that cater to the nostalgia of childhood. - **Event Planning:** Event planning companies specializing in weddings can incorporate whimsical desserts, such as LEGO-themed cakes, into their offerings to create memorable experiences for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Baking Program Toy Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-great-british-bake-off-set.md) - [Lobster Roll Wedding Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lobster-roll-wedding-cakes.md) - [Building Block Bouquets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bouquet-of-roses.md) - [Cheese Wheel Wedding Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowshill-cheese-wedding-cake.md) - [Brick Toy-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-gogo.md) - [Wedding Pizza Promotions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pizza-hut-6.md) - [Valentines-Thmes Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/date-night-in-a-box.md) - [Heart-Shaped Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/valentines-day-heart.md) - [Nostalgic Cookie Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-butter-cookie-tin.md)
