This incredibly amusing robotic wheelchair is the first of its kind and it actually works. The chair is just a prototype, but so far the device can hold a person up to 200 pounds. Made entirely out of the famous LEGO blocks, it's able to move forwards, backwards, left and right. It is powered using LEGO Mindstorms NXT's, Mindstorms motors, Mindstorms touch sensors, and rotacastor mutli-directional wheels. This geeky child-inspired device is a revolutionary take on the [traditional wheelchair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manual-wheelchair). Although a tad slower than other chairs, this definitely stands apart in the fun factor. Check out the video to see how it really moves. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **LEGO Wheelchair:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the mobility industry by incorporating LEGO technology in wheelchair design. - **Robotic Wheelchair:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the assistive technology industry by developing more advanced robotic wheelchairs. - **Child-inspired Devices:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the healthcare industry by creating more playful and engaging medical devices for children. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobility:** Disruptive innovation potential in the mobility industry by exploring novel approaches to wheelchair design. - **Assistive Technology:** Disruptive innovation potential in the assistive technology industry by advancing robotic wheelchair technology. - **Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation potential in the healthcare industry with child-inspired medical device designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Robotic Wheelchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-wheelchair.md) - [Upright Wheelchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kime-wheelchair.md) - [Wheel-Free Assisted Mobility Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-walk-me.md) - [Robotic Movement-Interpreting Wheelchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honda-unione.md) - [All-Terrain Electric Wheelchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scewo-bro.md) - [Modified Wheelchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaning-wheelchair.md) - [Semi-Outdoor Foldable Wheelchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robooter.md) - [Friendly Robotic Wheelchair Caregivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheelchair-robot-concept.md) - [Two-in-One Senior Mobility Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfdriving-wheelchair.md)
