# Repurposed LEGO Art Jaime Sánchez Explores the Possibilities of LEGO Use with Colorful Images By Riley von Niessen | Published 2016-09-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-use References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2016/09/12/funny-daily-objects-completed-with-lego/) & [facebook](https://www.facebook.com/jaimesanchezphotography) Jaime Sánchez, a photographer from Spain, created a project that surrounds [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-luggage) use, in which he transformed the small toy building blocks to be functional everyday objects. With bright contrasts in color, as well as the artist's unique implementation of LEGO use, the series is stunning to view. Objects standout starkly against one-toned backgrounds well, instantly attracting the viewer's eyes to the tiny tools at the center. In one image, Jaime Sánchez pretends that one of the blocks is toothpaste -- positioning a narrow piece on top of the bristles. In other works, he expands the LEGO use by having the pieces act as buttons on a gaming controller, or as a [tube of vivacious red lipstick](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-gogo). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **LEGO Art:** Explore the use of LEGO in art to create unique and visually appealing pieces. - **Colorful Images:** Utilize bright contrasts in color to create visually striking photographs. - **Functional Everyday Objects:** Repurpose LEGO pieces to create functional objects for everyday use. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Incorporate LEGO into photography to create innovative and eye-catching images. - **Art and Design:** Use LEGO to create unique and visually appealing art pieces that stand out. - **Toy Industry:** Develop new products and applications for LEGO that expand beyond traditional toy use. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Building Block-Inspired Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-luggage.md) - [Pop Art-Style Blocked Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-in-red.md) - [Contemporary Art Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-art-building-set.md) - [Lego-Centric Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-my-world.md) - [Block Puzzle Modular Dollhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dollhouse-concept.md) - [Artist-Inspired Flower Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belgiandesigner.md) - [Functional Building Block Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-zh1.md) - [Building Block Art Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-project-create-together.md) - [Building Block-Inspired Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-x-room-copenhagen.md)
