The set consists of all the various board game components from the title achieved with LEGO pieces to give them a cubic construction and also bring 2D elements into the third-dimension. Players can enjoy the board game tiles themselves in detailed building block format, while the many game pieces are also imagined with LEGO pieces. The LEGO Settlers of Catan board game was explained further by AthleticSkylor088 who said, "Starting out with almost nothing, gathering materials, and building settlements is all part of the great game of CATAN. Building your own towns and cities is a lot of fun, so why not play in the form of LEGO bricks?" ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 21% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/toys) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Building Block-based Board Games:** A trend in game design using building blocks to create three-dimensional versions of classic board games. - **Iconic Brands Collaboration:** A trend of merging two or more iconic brands together to create new and unique products. - **Three-dimensional Board Games:** A trend of bringing traditional 2D board games into the third dimension through the use of building blocks. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Toy Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the possibilities of creating building block-based versions of popular board games to attract a wider audience and offer a unique gameplay experience. - **Game Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with different brands to create new versions of existing board games, bringing a fresh twist to the market. - **Licensing and Collaboration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Foster partnerships between iconic brands to create innovative and collectible products that appeal to both brand fans and enthusiasts of the original game. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Buildable Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-lego-connect-4.md) - [Building Block Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tower-chess-set.md) - [Game-Inspired Playable Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-solid.md) - [Digital Game-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-crossing-set.md) - [Building Block Foosball Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-table-football.md) - [Brick Toy Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-boy-set.md) - [Retro-Inspired Toy Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-atari-2600.md) - [Building Block Game Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-nintendo-game-boy.md) - [Multifunctional Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lego-group.md)
