# Nostalgic Sitcom Figurines The LEGO Golden Girls Will Bring You Back to the 1980s By Nicole Ballantyne-Choo | Published 2013-11-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-golden-girls References: [gizmodiva](http://gizmodiva.com/other_stuff/golden-girls-lego-figurines.php) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/166059870/the-golden-girls-brick-people-toy-set) The [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-full-house) Golden Girls set from GoldenBrickLadies on [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) is a fun gift for a fan of the 1980s sitcom. Whether you and your friends watched the show religiously when it first aired or are still drawn to the reruns, these mini block figurines are definitely collectibles. The detail on these figurines is very accurate and it's easy to tell who is being portrayed. For instance, [Sophia](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofia-cashmere) wears the big rimmed glasses Estelle Getty wore in the show and she's also the smallest in the set. Likewise, the block version of Blanche is wearing more makeup than the rest to show her vanity. Finally, Rose is shown and Dorothy has a cross look on her face and is wearing her signature scarf. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Nostalgic Sitcom Collectibles:** Expanding on the success of the LEGO Golden Girls set, there is an opportunity to create more collectibles based on popular sitcoms from the past, tapping into nostalgia and appealing to fans. - **Accurate Mini Block Figurines:** The market for detailed and accurate mini block figurines extends beyond sitcoms, opening up opportunities to create collectible sets representing characters from various movies, TV shows, and cartoons. - **Personalized Block Figurines:** Introducing a customizable aspect to block figurines, where customers can choose specific features and accessories for their favorite characters, could revolutionize the collectibles industry and enhance the consumer experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Toy Manufacturing:** Toy manufacturers have the opportunity to capitalize on the growing demand for nostalgic sitcom collectibles by creating a wide range of block figurine sets based on beloved TV shows and movies from different decades. - **Merchandising:** The merchandising industry can partner with TV networks, studios, and streaming platforms to produce and distribute mini block figurines of popular characters from iconic sitcoms, creating new revenue streams and enhancing fan engagement. - **3D Printing:** The 3D printing industry can explore partnerships with toy manufacturers or develop platforms where customers can design and print their personalized block figurines, offering a unique and customizable collectibles experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Sitcom-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-full-house.md) - [Sitcom-Inspired Figurine Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-people-collector-set.md) - [Sitcom Building Block Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-the-office.md) - [Sitcom-Inspired Toy Brick Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/how-i-met-your-mother-1.md) - [Television Family-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bobs-burgers-set.md) - [Spooky Show-Themed LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netflix-series-wednesday.md) - [Nostalgic Movie Brick Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/willy-wonka-the-chocolate-factory-lego.md) - [Fandom-Honoring Building Block Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fandomhonoring-building-block-sets.md) - [Witchy Toy Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-1.md)
