The shelving consists of a main tubular support structure with a series of cutouts that are used to hold the differently shaped shelf levels in place. This encourages the person to customize how it looks to their specifications, while also allowing them to switch up the look according to their needs on an ongoing basis. The 'Ledoux' modular shelf system is the design work of Natalie Shook and Wes Rozen of [Piscina](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petra), and could also function as a workstation to accommodate a computer terminal with additional accessories. The unit responds to increasing consumer demand for customizable furniture products and accessories. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Customizable Furniture:** The demand for customizable furniture is increasing, creating opportunities for furniture companies to experiment with modular and adaptable designs. - **Modular Shelving:** Modular shelving provides a functional and flexible storage solution for modern homes, and innovators should focus on developing shelving that can be easily customized and adjusted. - **Multi-functional Workstations:** Modular shelving could also function as workstations, creating opportunities for innovators to design workstations that can be customized and adapted to fit varying needs. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Industry:** Companies in the furniture industry should invest in developing customizable and modular furniture to meet the demands of increasingly style-conscious consumers. - **Interior Design Industry:** The customizable and adaptable nature of modular shelving presents an opportunity for interior designers to incorporate these functional and aesthetically pleasing designs in their projects. - **Home Office Industry:** The demand for multi-functional workstations creates opportunities for companies in the home office industry to develop innovative and adaptable workstation designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Progressive Storage Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-prt-collection.md) - [Customizable Storage Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelved-modular-furniture.md) - [Modular Configuration Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repisa-01.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Modular Contemporary Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv.md) - [Modular Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving.md) - [Modular Decor Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halblang-blendend.md) - [Modular Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozey.md) - [Modern Modular Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelving-unit-01.md)
