# Flipped Page Furniture Hyunsoo Choi's Leaf Stool and Bar Chair Looks Like It's a Page from a Book By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-stool-and-bar-chair References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/05/24/leaf-stool-and-bar-chair-by-hyunsoo-choi/) & [choihyunsoo](http://www.choihyunsoo.com/) Although I'm sure the Leaf stool and bar chair was named after an actual leaf, to me it looks like a page in a book that is just about to be flipped. Considering that the word "leaf" can also apply to paper, perhaps I'm not so far off the mark with that comparison. Created by Korean designer Hyunsoo Choi, the Leaf stool and bar chair features a simple design with a very [organic aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1). Elegant and chic, it really brings a sense of nature inside one's living space. Since it looks like a typical piece of furniture minus its [subtle, arching backrest](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-chair), that is definitely a feat to be acknowledged. I especially like how each stool and bar chair is available in soft, pastel colors in addition to plain wood finishes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Organic Aesthetics:** Designing furniture with a natural and organic aesthetic presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry. - **Minimalistic Design:** Embracing minimalistic design in furniture creation opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the interior design industry. - **Colorful Options:** Providing furniture options in vibrant and pastel colors creates a disruptive innovation opportunity for the furniture retail industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Exploring organic aesthetics in furniture design can lead to disruptive innovation in the home decor industry. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating minimalistic design principles into furniture design offers disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry. - **Furniture Retail:** Introducing diverse color options for furniture products offers a disruptive innovation opportunity for the furniture retail industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Chaotically Natural Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kkochgalam-chair.md) - [Folded Paper-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-stool.md) - [Nature-Inspired Minimal Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/capture-the-light.md) - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [High-Quality Flatpack Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pagoda-chair.md) - [Leaf-Inspired Modern Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-lounge-chair1.md) - [Floating Component Dining Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-top-chair.md) - [Haute Cohesive Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peel-chair-by-blond.md)
