# Fluidly Ergonomic Kitchens The LEAF Kitchen Draws its Inspiration From Nature By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-08-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-kitchen References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/08/28/the-leaf-kitchen-by-culimaat-high-end-kitchens/) & [culimaat.nl](http://www.culimaat.nl/) Dutch company Culimaat High End Kitchens designed the 'LEAF Kitchen,' a space that's inspired by nature and made entirely of HI-MACS. The finished installation will be on display during Maison & Objet, a trade fair devoted to lifestyle and design. The clean, organic design is sure to resonate with lovers of nature. Rather than sticking to traditional geometric silhouettes, the kitchen features a more [fluid, round shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furnitures). All of the [modern kitchen essentials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/material-kitchen) we've come to rely on are seamlessly integrated into the design so that they are not visible, but easily within grasp. The HI-MACS storange unit, which includes [electronically-controlled drawers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/integrated-kitchen-appliance), keeps the vital technical components out of view. It also allowed the smooth, joint-less shape of the kitchen to take form. Finally, the non-porous surface ensures the utmost cleanliness, completing the ergonomic, convenient design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Nature-inspired Designs:** Opportunity to create innovative products and spaces that draw inspiration from nature. - **Fluid Shapes and Silhouettes:** Opportunity to explore unconventional and organic forms in design. - **Seamless Integration of Technology:** Opportunity to seamlessly incorporate modern technology into design, making it discreet yet easily accessible. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchen and Interior Design:** Opportunity to create ergonomic and nature-inspired kitchen solutions. - **Materials and Surfaces:** Opportunity to develop non-porous and hygienic surfaces for kitchen applications. - **Smart Storage and Home Automation:** Opportunity to create electronically-controlled storage systems that integrate seamlessly into kitchen designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sensient-cosmetic-technologies.md) - [Freestanding Experimental Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-kitchens.md) - [Leaf-Inspired Countryside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-house-1.md) - [Outdoor Carbon-Free Cooking Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transspecies-kitchen.md) - [Earthy Kitchen Cabinet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masterbrand-cabinets.md) - [Sustainable Kitchen Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/legni-collection.md) - [Sustainable Outdoor Kitchen Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-kitchen1.md) - [Cabinet-Style Kitchen Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/next125-pocket-system.md) - [Leaf-Inspired Colorful Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-tray.md)
