Although it is currently only a concept, the Leader Outdoor Crutches could radically change the way people [travel at night by foot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scoutlite-blinko). It is a [cane with a built-in light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-cane-2) that illuminates the path ahead while also providing a useful beacon to those that might be following the carrier. Designed by Cathy Wen and Linxi Lee, the Leader Outdoor Crutches will help ensure that people won't get lost in the middle of nowhere. More than that, by lighting the path, it will also help to prevent injuries such as ankle sprains due to loose rocks and the like. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Illuminated Walking Gear:** There is an opportunity for creating innovative walking gear with built-in lights to improve safety and visibility in low-light conditions. - **Smart Outdoor Equipment:** Developing smart outdoor equipment with integrated technology can enhance user experience and mitigate potential risks. - **Personalized Safety Gear:** Creating personalized safety gear that suits individual needs and preferences can enhance comfort and overall safety during outdoor activities. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can capitalize on the rising demand for innovative safety equipment and gear for hikers and adventurers. - **Sporting Goods:** Sporting goods manufacturers can explore opportunities to integrate technology into their products, enhancing safety and functionality. - **Travel and Tourism:** The travel and tourism industry can offer innovative outdoor equipment rental services, providing tourists with the latest safety gear during their adventures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Automated Adjustment Walking Sticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halo-smart-cane.md) - [Connected Sensor-Packed Canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caregiver-smart-cane.md) - [Bird-Inspired Mobility Crutches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbo-crutch.md) - [Outdoor Lantern Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-lantern-1.md) - [Connected Walking Canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/can-go.md) - [Stylish Outdoor Illumination Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-outdoor-lantern.md) - [Pet-Carrying Walking Aids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walking-aid-innovaion.md) - [Connected Walking Support Canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stride-senze.md) - [Smart Walking Canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/can-go-smart-came.md)
