# Subdued Pastel Cookware The Le Creuset Matte Collection Forgoes the Brand's Bright, Shiny Designs By Meghan Young | Published 2014-03-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-matte-collection References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/matte-collection-le-creuset/) & [lecreuset](http://lecreuset.ca/) As classic as the Le Creuset cookware is with its bright colors and shiny surfaces, the Le Creuset Matte Collection appeals to people to have always wished for something a little more subdued as well as those who have been looking forward to something different. As its name suggests, the shiny surfaces have been replaced with matte ones while the bright colors are taken over by a series of [pale pastels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pink-peony). From classic white to muted taupe and soft blue, the Le Creuset Matte Collection is comprised of hues that would better suit a larger range of existing kitchen decor, especially minimalist ones. It is comprised of five pieces, which every cook needs in their arsenal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Subdued Pastel Cookware:** This trend of muted pastel cookware presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the kitchenware industry by offering a more minimalist aesthetic. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchenware:** The kitchenware industry can embrace the trend of subdued pastel cookware to target a wider range of consumers, particularly those with minimalist kitchen decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pink Cast Iron Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Classic-Matte-Sugar-Pink.md) - [Pastel-Hued Seasonal Cookware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-la-collection-jardin.md) - [Durable Generational Kitchen Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-6.md) - [Spring-Ready Cookware Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-3.md) - [Peach-Tonal Cookware Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peche.md) - [Romantic Stoneware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-mon-coeur-collection.md) - [Moody Autumnal Bakeware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-fall-into-autumn.md) - [Posh Pastel Cookware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/procook-soho-collection.md) - [Sunning High-Design Cookware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/after-crate-barrel-and-caraway.md)
