# Prehistoric Lawn Ornaments Giant T-Rex Turns Your Yard into Jurassic Park By Brian G Randles | Published 2010-02-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lawn-ornaments References: [dvice](http://dvice.com/archives/2010/02/scare-off-the-n.php) & [geekologie](http://www.geekologie.com/2010/02/do_want_giant_trex_garden_stat.php) Imagine this going well for the husband: "Honey, I brought home a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex statue for the yard!" I don't even need to say this but unless you married a woman who has a thing for Jeff Goldblum movies, or owes you a dinosaur-sized marital favor, you are going to be SOL when trying to make the "extinct animals make great lawn ornaments" argument. Measuring 11 feet in height--and 22 feet in absurdity--this King of the Lawn Ornaments can be yours for only $7500. Roar. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Giant Lawn Ornaments:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of oversized lawn ornaments to cater to consumers seeking unique and attention-grabbing outdoor decor. - **Jurassic Park-inspired Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a range of dinosaur-themed home decor items to tap into the nostalgia and fascination with prehistoric creatures. - **Experiential Yard Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design interactive and experiential yard decorations that offer engaging and immersive experiences for homeowners and visitors. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology and unique design concepts into home decor products to appeal to consumers looking for distinctive and modern aesthetics. - **Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative and eye-catching outdoor furniture designs to enhance the visual appeal and create memorable outdoor experiences for customers. - **Tourist Attractions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop interactive and educational tourist attractions centered around prehistoric themes, leveraging the popularity of dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dinosaur-Inspired Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chiasaurus-rex-planter.md) - [Dinosaur Intricate Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-fossils-tyrannosaurus-rex.md) - [Dinosaur Fossil Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dinosaur-fossils-trex-skull.md) - [Dinosaur Convention Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/convention-crasher.md) - [Interactive Hatching Dinosaur Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-toys.md) - [Superhero-Themed Dinosaur Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/web-chompin-spider-rex.md) - [Dinosaur-Themed Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-fossils-triceratops-skull.md) - [Boxed Wine Lawn Ornaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lawn-inflatablecab.md) - [Auto-Transforming Toy Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grimlock.md)
