# Grassy Umbrella Holders The Lawn for Rain Dries Your Umbrella While Watering Your Plants By Meghan Young | Published 2010-08-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lawn-for-rain References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5600824/dry-off-your-wet-umbrella-in-styrofoam-grass) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/07/30/sponges-and-greens-get-thirsty…/) Why use a boring, [traditional umbrella holder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-1) when you can introduce the 'Lawn for Rain' into your humble abode? For those with a fun-loving spirit or children, this is the perfect way to dry those wet umbrellas. Designed by Cun-Min Zheng, Yan-Zhen Li and Xin-Yu Wang, the Lawn for Rain is made from sponges and not only feature long, grassy designs, but also oversized pencils. The best part of the grass option, however, it that the [water from the umbrella feeds plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere) at its base. Pretty darn clever, right? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Grassy Umbrella Holders:** Innovative umbrella holders designed to water plants and add a fun-loving spirit to homes. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** Home decor products that promote sustainability, creativity, and functionality. - **Indoor Gardening:** Integrated gardening products that bring nature inside and add freshness to living spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Innovative home decor products that add style and functionality to living spaces. - **Sustainable Design:** Sustainability-focused design products that promote eco-friendliness and creativity. - **Gardening:** Products and services that cater to a growing trend of indoor gardening and sustainable urban living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Branch-Like Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aghsan.md) - [Wall-Mounted Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umbrella-1.md) - [Disappearing Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coilo.md) - [Umbrella-Resembling Playful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-man-lamp.md) - [Artful Sculptural Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inbetween-umbrella.md) - [Minimal Gridded Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grid.md) - [Umbrella Standpoint Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standpoint.md) - [Wall Art Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/justin-case.md) - [Flying Umbrella Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-umbrella.md)
