At the time, it was one of the first eco-friendly liquid detergents on the market with its coconut-derived surfactants. Now, Trader Joe's has given its Lavender Scent Liquid Laundry Detergent and Free & Clear Liquid Laundry Detergent an update that's in line with current eco standards. The new versions still feature the same [hypoallergenic coconut-derived surfactants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fabric-rinse), but now they're free of optical brighteners.
