# Playful Lunar Photography Laurent Laveder Seems to Bring the Moon Down to Earth By Peter Vallas | Published 2011-06-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laurent-laveder References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/wonderfully-imaginative-photos-of-people-posing-with-the-moon/) & [laurentlaveder](http://www.laurentlaveder.com) French photographer Laurent Laveder has a vivid and playful imagination. He has a unique background in that he studied both science and photography. This contrasting education makes his photographs much more experimental and exciting. His latest work is a series of photographs called Nuit that involves people [playing with the moon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumoon). Laurent Laveder has turned [nighttime photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evening-sky) into something both clever and fun. Laveder’s goal is to immortalize physical phenomenons, even if it is as simple as the sun rising over the horizon or [the different shapes the moon makes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ode-to-the-moon). Laurent Laveder has even had his photography from Nuit published in a French-language poetry book called Quartier Livre. I can’t wait to see what other shots he can use the moon for. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nighttime Photography:** Exploring the creative potential of nighttime photography can lead to innovative and visually captivating images. - **Experimental Photography:** Combining different fields of study, like science and photography, can unlock new artistic possibilities and perspectives. - **Playful Imagination:** Infusing playful elements into photography can create unique and engaging visual experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Incorporating imaginative concepts and experimenting with different techniques can push the boundaries of traditional photography. - **Publishing:** Collaborating with photographers like Laurent Laveder to create visually stunning books can attract a wider audience and appeal to art enthusiasts. - **Art and Design:** Embracing playful and experimental approaches to art and design can inspire new creative directions and unconventional experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Textured Moon-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp.md) - [Lunar-Based Rotating Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion.md) - [Moon-Bound Architectural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonhouse-project.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Lunar-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-side-table.md)
