Yet despite its overall Victorian appeal, the Laura Desk has been modernized subtly to fit into the homes of today. In place of any unnecessary adornments or embellishments, this piece of furniture is rather [minimalist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-furniture-launch). This doesn't negate its practicality. The Laura Desk is equipped with three open cubbies to organize your papers, two drawers for stationary and a large writing surface. The cubbies even sport two cord ports for the tech age. Designed by Ben Klebba of Phloem Studio, the Laura Desk is made-to-order. It is crafted out of a choice of the finest hardwoods. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Furniture:** The modernization of classic furniture designs to create minimalist pieces that fit into contemporary homes. - **Organizational Workstations:** The integration of open cubbies and drawers in workstations to provide efficient organization for papers and stationary. - **Tech-enabled Furniture:** The incorporation of cord ports in furniture to accommodate technology devices and enhance productivity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunities to create and produce modernized versions of classic furniture designs. - **Home Office Supplies:** Demand for organizational workstations and furniture pieces that promote productivity in home office settings. - **Technology Accessories:** Development and production of cord ports and other tech-enabled features in furniture design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floating Architectural Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1949-protractor-desk.md) - [Solid Wooden Tapered Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/model-36.md) - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Futuristic Sculptural Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arnardo-desk.md) - [Sleek Minimal Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ab019-wall-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md)
