# Modular Public Seating The ‘Bench' by the LATALA Design Group By Krzysztof Bielski | Published 2009-12-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/latla References: [lataladesign](http://www.lataladesign.com/project/bench,36.html) 'Bench' is a new project by the LATALA design group, Polish designers and architects, meant for green spaces, parks and other public areas. The Bench is a flexible and easy to assembly "modular system for public spaces" with endless possibilities of variations, in a form of clever bridges. Outdoor gatherings may be a new way to spend time together with both old friends and new people met on the web (it's a lot safer to meet strangers in public). The LATLA Bench may offer a solution to the increasing need to meet outdoor seating demands in public spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Seating Systems:** The 'Bench' by the LATALA Design Group showcases the potential for modular seating solutions in public spaces. - **Flexible Urban Furniture:** The LATALA Bench demonstrates the opportunity for flexible and adaptable urban furniture designs. - **Collaborative Public Design:** The Bench project highlights the trend of involving local communities in the design and functionality of public seating. ### Who This Affects Most - **Public Space Design:** The LATALA Bench suggests opportunities for innovation and creativity in designing functional and aesthetically pleasing public spaces. - **Outdoor Furniture Manufacturing:** The modular nature of the Bench presents disruptive innovation potential within the outdoor furniture manufacturing industry. - **Urban Planning and Development:** The LATALA Bench concept calls for reimagining urban landscapes and considering innovative solutions in public seating as part of urban planning and development. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [Interaction-Promoting Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-seating.md) - [Inclusive Modular Cityscape Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench.md) - [Modular Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gb-modular-bench.md) - [Contemporary Modular Bench Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipside-modular-bench.md) - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Accessible Urban Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-furniture-concept.md)
