The last elephant creation was inspired after Diem Chau saw pictures of endangered species being killed by Jimmy John. Diem created this sculpture to speak out against animal cruelty -- it even includes the elephant's shadow in the sculpture. The raven and the sun creation is based off of an old American folktale where the Raven provided light to the world by stealing the Sun. These delicate, [tiny creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures) show the amazing talents of Diem Chau, and she has captured them using her 17-55mm lens. It is truly remarkable that these realistic sculptures of animals were created at the tip of a pencil. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Graphite Pencil Sculptures:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to create miniature sculptures using graphite pencil tips. - **Animal Rights Advocacy:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to use art and sculpture as a medium to raise awareness for animal cruelty and advocate for animal rights. - **Microscopic Art:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to explore the creation of intricate and realistic sculptures on a miniature scale. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry can find opportunities to incorporate graphite pencil sculptures into their collections and exhibitions. - **Animal Conservation:** The animal conservation industry can leverage the power of art and sculpture to raise awareness and funds for their cause. - **Photography:** The photography industry can explore new techniques and lenses to capture the intricate and detailed pencil sculptures in stunning visuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Outdoor Wildlife Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-elephant-migration.md) - [Striking Sculptural Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-candle.md) - [Unique Writing Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphite-paintbrush-writing-instrument.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Elegant Everlasting Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stilform-aeon.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Animal-Inspired Habitat Lip Balms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/endangered-animal-lip-balm.md) - [Primal-Themed Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-return.md) - [Everlasting Magnetic Tip Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aeon1.md)
