# Scraggly Acrylic Illuminators Lasso Lamps Feature Kinked and Tangled Strips of Fluorescent LEDs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-03-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lasso-lamp References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2014/03/21/lasso-lamp-by-dookkedesign.php) & [dookke](http://www.dookke.com/contact.html) The Lasso Lamp certainly diverges from the convention of the tidy light fixture. A bare bulb, a smooth scone or even an [elaborate (yet typically symmetrical) chandelier](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pell-chandelier) has nothing on these chaotic interior accents. German studio dookke:design has created a distinctive and visually exciting lampshade that serves to diffuse the intense light of the LED bulb into a [tangled nest of polymer material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp). Strips of acrylic were manipulated into all sorts of folds and twists and jumbled with others like it. The abstract mess of odd geometries is emphasized by the [translucent yellow, orange or green tints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso) to the resin that absorb, refract and reflect the light of the source in the center. No two knotted Lasso Lamps are alike, making their asymmetries especially intriguing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Tangled Illumination:** Incorporating chaotic and twisted designs in lighting fixtures could be a trend in the interior design industry. - **Abstract Lampshades:** Designing lampshades with odd geometries and using resin with colored tints could be a trend in the lighting industry. - **Unique Lighting Fixtures:** Creating lighting fixtures that are distinct and manually made for each piece could be a trend in the lighting industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry could leverage on the trend of using unconventional and unique lighting fixtures to create aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. - **Handmade Products:** The handmade products industry can benefit from producing unique lighting fixtures that are hand-crafted and visually exciting. - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can innovate by exploring new ways to manipulate materials and colors to create unconventional lampshades and lighting fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md) - [Unconventional Modular Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-kaleido-series.md) - [Stealthy Pendant Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp.md) - [Soft Rope Lampshades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hat-collection.md)
