Considering that the company is planning to open Star Wars-themed sections of its parks in California and Florida, the laser-deflecting lightsaber concept is a timely one. According to the patent, the system will involve a [drone that flies around a person](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-recharging-system) and fires beams of light at them. That person will be equipped with a "faux light saber," as the patent terms it, that is equipped with LEDs up and down the shaft. The drone will be able to sense the LEDs, and its laser beams will be fired at them, giving consumers the impression of deflecting attacks from a 'Star Wars' menace. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Multimedia](https://www.trendhunter.com/multimedia) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Lightsaber Technology:** Exploring advancements in lightsaber technology to create immersive experiences and bring fictional worlds to life. - **Interactive Drones:** Developing drones with advanced sensing capabilities for interactive and engaging experiences, such as in the entertainment industry. - **Immersive Theme Parks:** Creating immersive theme park experiences that go beyond traditional rides and attractions by incorporating innovative technologies like laser-deflecting lightsabers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** Utilizing disruptive technologies like laser-deflecting lightsabers to enhance entertainment experiences and captivate audiences. - **Technology:** Exploring advancements in drone capabilities and lightsaber technology to drive innovation in the technology industry. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Integrating cutting-edge technologies, such as laser-deflecting lightsabers, to create unique and immersive experiences in theme parks and attract visitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [LED-Powered Laser Swords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-series-obiwan-kenobi-force-fx-elite-lightsaber.md) - [Motion-Activated Sci-Fi Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-2.md) - [Laser Sword Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seagate-lightsaber-collection-firecuda-ssd.md) - [Sci Fi-Inspired Desk Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightsaber-lego.md) - [Laser-Controlled Military Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lasercontrolled-military-drone.md) - [Pink-Inspired Saber Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pink-soldier-saber.md) - [Sci-Fi Film-Themed Dart Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starfleet-phaser-blaster.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ray-ban-star-wars.md) - [Laser Technology Smoking Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-technology-smoking-device.md)
