The device works by being slipped onto the bottom of the MacBook Pro to add an SD card slot, USB Type-A, a Gigabit Ethernet port as well as 4TB of storage, all via Bluetooth connectivity. The design of the OWC DEC MacBook Pro Laptop Dock is crafted with the aesthetic of the MacBook Pro in mind to make sure the peripheral fits the design of the laptop with precision. This is achieved thanks to the brand's previous work designing the dock over the course of three years. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Laptop-upgrading Docks:** Laptop docks that enhance the capabilities of existing laptops by adding ports and storage. - **Peripheral Design:** Designing peripherals that seamlessly integrate with and match the aesthetic of laptops. - **Bluetooth Connectivity:** Using Bluetooth technology to connect laptops with docking stations for enhanced functionality and convenience. ### Where This Applies - **Computer Hardware:** Manufacturing and selling laptop docks, peripherals, and accessories. - **Technology:** Developing innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities of laptops and improve user experience. - **Storage:** Providing storage solutions for laptop users through external devices and docks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular All-in-One Laptop Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macbook-docking-station.md) - [16TB-Equipped Laptop Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/echo-dual-nvme-thunderbolt-dock.md) - [Data-Storing Computer Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/external-ssd-drive.md) - [Feature-Rich Expansion Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thunderbolt-4-multimedia-pro-dock.md) - [Metallic Port Expansion Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tbt100-dp-thunderbolt-3-dock.md) - [Machined Aluminum Computer Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/satechi-slim-dock.md) - [Apple-Focused Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minisopuru.md) - [SSD-Equipped Computer Hub Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invzi-maghub-2.md) - [18-Port Laptop Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thunderbolt-station-4.md)
