Its inventors dub it "the world's tiniest universal tablet holder for hands-free use." The LapTape consists of a thick strap and two small plastic pieces shaped to support the corners of a tablet. Simply secure the strap around your knees and adjust the plastic holders so your tablet sits snugly on them. The LapTape is adjustable, meaning it can be used by people of all shapes and sizes to hold tablets of all shapes and sizes. It is compatible with [iPads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magfree-pro), Android tablets, e-book readers and all other tablet devices. It can even hold thin laptops like the [MacBook Air](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krafted-edge). The LapTape's British inventors are currently running a [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moft-dynamic-folio) campaign to raise funds to produce and distribute the LapTape. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hands-free Device Holders:** Opportunity for companies to create device holders that can secure tablets and laptops to the body and allow for hands-free use. - **Adjustable Wearable Technology:** Companies can innovate adjustable wearable technology to accommodate people of all shapes and sizes and provide more comfortable and convenient device use. - **Crowdfunding Campaigns for Innovative Products:** Opportunity for entrepreneurs to launch crowdfunding campaigns to raise funds and create demand for innovative products like the LapTape. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** Opportunity for consumer electronics companies to create wearable device holders, which can attract consumers looking for convenience and mobility. - **Health and Fitness:** Opportunity for health and fitness companies to integrate wearable device holders into their products to provide hands-free use during exercise or physical activities. - **Crowdfunding Platforms:** Opportunity for crowdfunding platform companies to market their platform as a launchpad for innovative products like the LapTape and help connect entrepreneurs with investors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Height-Adjustable Laptop Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/couch-and-laptop-table.md) - [Dual-Kickstand Interactive Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-folio.md) - [Adjustable Laptop Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosi.md) - [Travel Lap Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stowaway-lap-desk.md) - [Adaptable Professional Tablet Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-tablet-stand.md) - [Angular Tablet Protector Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pitaka-magez-folio-2.md) - [Laptop Paper Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/branch.md) - [Portable Foldable Lap Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-lap-desk.md) - [Ultra-Slim Folding Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metastand-pro.md)
