The [semi-detached](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ray-house) Lansdowne House by Affleck de la Riva architects is situated on a street that's full of character, history and lots of changes in elevation. In response to this, the house puts a focus on asymmetry, merging its sleek and modern half with a more traditional piece of architecture. Although the exterior design is unusual, it is definitely a reflection of the surrounding neighborhood, using the same [red brick](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diandra-maselli-architect) and black slate as other houses in the immediate area.

On the inside of the Montreal house, the design is all modern, featuring a crisp white interior with shiny metal and glass finishes, as well as some wood detailing to create that sense of warm familiarity in a home.
