Of course, it simply looks like a puzzle within a puzzle, but in fact, her [minimalistic design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-chess-set) would be highly beneficial for those wanting a [compact chess set](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boxed-collection). Looking deceptively like run-of-the-mill building blocks, these strategically designed chess pieces, which are part of [MoMA's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mattel-2) collection, fit snugly together so they can be packed away conveniently. Each piece also represents how they should move. For instance, Lanier Graham shaped the knight in an L-shape. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/toys) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalistic Chess Sets:** Creating chess sets with minimalistic designs that are compact and convenient for travel. - **Strategically Designed Chess Pieces:** Designing chess pieces that fit snugly together and can be packed away conveniently. - **Chess Education:** Developing chess sets that visually represent how each piece should move, making it easier for beginners to learn the game. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Toy Manufacturing:** Opportunity for toy manufacturers to create compact chess sets with unique and appealing designs. - **Travel Accessories:** Creating chess sets specifically tailored for travelers, offering maximum convenience and portability. - **Education and Tutoring:** Providing visually instructional chess sets to aid in teaching chess to beginners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Monolithic Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-chess-set.md) - [Compact Game Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-up-chess-and-checkers-set.md) - [Minimalist Artful Chessboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tarek-elkassouf.md) - [Incredibly Elegant Chess Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-chess-set.md) - [Building Block Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tower-chess-set.md) - [Luxe Luggage Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rimowa-chess-attache.md) - [Magnetic Portable Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ventureboard.md) - [Brutalist Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mohmaya.md) - [Ceramic Chess Seating Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-chess.md)
