# Explosion-Inspired Illuminators The 'Moment' Lamp Light Draws Inspiration from War By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-11-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamp-light References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/11/08/peaceful-illumination/) & [h220430.jp](http://www.h220430.jp/) The 'Moment' lamp light draws inspiration from wartime and the explosions that are prominent when warfare ensues. Although inspired by a somewhat dark notion, the 'Moment' lamp beautifully interprets the moment of an explosion and recreates it with a [spiky, illuminated aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light). The 'Moment' lamp is the design work of h220430 / Satoshi Itasaka and is designed to be placed on the edge of a surface or furniture piece. While it adds a stunning source of illumination with a [sculptural accent](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection), the 'Moment' lamp light reminds us of the importance of peace and the brutality of warfare. The unit consists of a bulb in the interior that is surrounded by a [bumpy exterior with spikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp) jetting outward that catch and expand the light. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Explosion-inspired Lighting:** The design trend of explosion-inspired lighting creates visually striking and thought-provoking illumination pieces. - **War-inspired Aesthetics:** The trend of war-inspired aesthetics brings a touch of edginess and symbolism to design, appealing to consumers seeking powerful visual expressions. - **Peaceful Darkness:** The trend of incorporating darkness and somber elements into design reflects a desire for deeper introspection and contemplation in a chaotic world. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior design professionals can explore the use of explosion-inspired lighting to create unique and captivating visual experiences in residential and commercial spaces. - **Art and Sculpture:** Artists and sculptors can leverage war-inspired aesthetics to create thought-provoking and emotionally charged pieces that resonate with viewers. - **Home Decor and Furnishings:** Home decor and furnishings companies can tap into the trend of peaceful darkness by incorporating somber elements into their designs, catering to individuals seeking contemplative and introspective products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [Naturally Inspired Digital Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-lamp.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md)
