# Illuminated Wine Cooler The Drink Light By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2008-03-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamp-and-wine-cooler-in-one-eduardo-najeras-the-drink-light References: [newlaunches](http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/drink_light_drive_away_your_blues_with_this_lamp.php) & [gnr8.biz](http://www.gnr8.biz/product_info.php?products_id=695) A wine cooler that doubles as a lamp. Not a bad idea as far as I am concerned. The **Drink Light** is a [giant ice bucket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casket-cooler) that [keeps your beverages cold](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puffin-drinkware). Its neutral white hue allows it to blend in with the furniture. It also lights up and glows like a lamp which is kind of counter intuitive because there is water involved and the first thing that crosses my mind is:what if there is a short circuit? The Drink Light was designed by Jorge Najera and it sells for $379. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Houseware:** Opportunity for creating products that serve multiple purposes, such as a wine cooler that also functions as a lamp. - **Blending Design and Function:** Innovation lies in creating products that seamlessly blend into a space while serving their intended purpose, like an illuminated wine cooler. - **Safety-enhanced Home Decor:** Creating home decor items with built-in safety features, such as a waterproof and short circuit-proof illuminated wine cooler. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Home decor manufacturers can explore the creation of dual-purpose items like illuminated wine coolers that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. - **Houseware:** Houseware companies can tap into the market demand for innovative and multifunctional products, like illuminated wine coolers that double as lamps. - **Electronics:** Electronics manufacturers can develop waterproof and safety-enhanced products, such as illuminated wine coolers with built-in precautions against short circuits. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Waterproof Champagne Bucket Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nordic-dluxx-pro.md) - [Rapid-Chilling Beverage Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-drink-cooler.md) - [Quick Can-Cooling Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-minute-beverage-chiller.md) - [Libation-Cooling Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diamas.md) - [Sizable Wine Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/equator-advanced-appliances.md) - [Cooling Beer Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beercubes1.md) - [Cabinet Drawer Wine Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dometic-drawbar.md) - [Seasonal Straw-Made Beer Coolers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beer-bale-cooler.md) - [Freezable Wine Packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freezable-wine-pack.md)
