The design is [whimsical and offbeat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deux-gares-express-caf), including wire lighting fixtures, hanging bird cages and a wall featuring an arrangement of colorful plates. For seating, there are black metal chairs as well as booths accented with fun striped fabric. Above some of the tables hang different types of [contemporary pendant lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-mediterranean-restaurant); some look like crosses between clouds and cotton balls while others feature a cute criss-crossing pattern. Architecture and interior design firm IlmioDesign, founded by designers Andrea Spada and Michele Corbani, has definitely created a wonderful eating space for Lah! restaurant. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Quirky Interiors:** Creating unique and playful interiors with whimsical elements such as cut-out walls and hanging bird cages - **Creative Lighting:** Innovative modern lighting fixtures with unique designs, such as pendant lamps resembling clouds and cotton balls - **Custom Dividers:** Designing wooden wall dividers with cut-out letters and patterns to provide privacy while maintaining visual intrigue ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Restaurant and Hospitality:** Creating lively and innovative atmospheres for diners to enhance their dining experience and differentiate from competitors - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Innovating with playful and inventive elements that create unique and memorable designs for commercial spaces - **Lighting and Fixtures:** Developing creative and modern lighting designs to match the playful elements of restaurant and hospitality interiors ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fast-Casual Industrial Style Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rale-milanga.md) - [Grotto-Like Punctuated Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cibaria.md) - [Blue-Toned Restaurant Lounges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agli-amici-1887.md) - [Dynamic Restaurant Wall Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donna.md) - [Curvaceous Restaurant Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4space.md) - [Colorfully Interior Designed Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lackawanna-caf.md) - [Copper Wall-Lined Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikoyi.md) - [Thoughtfully Designed Compact Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loong-noodles.md) - [Canopy Restaurant Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/millo-restaurant.md)
